Maintenance of Lights: Brighthouse agrees to provide service maintenance for light issues that occur throughout the holiday season. Issues covered under this agreement at no cost to the customer are those arising from faulty bulbs, malfunctioning equipment, etc. Customer understands that Brighthouse is NOT liable for damages to lights and/or equipment due to vandalism, theft, severe weather conditions, or any other issue beyond Brighthouse’s control. The cost of replacing bulbs and/or light strands from issues beyond Brighthouse’s control will be the responsibility of the customer. These repair/replacement costs will be done at the charge of $30/trip, $20/hour for labor and any cost associated with replacing lights.
Removal of Lights: Brighthouse agrees to remove the holiday lights from the customer’s home after the holiday season is complete. This will take place in the weeks or months following January 1st.
Storage of Lights: After removing the lights, Brighthouse agrees to store customer’s holiday lights until the next holiday season. This is done at no additional cost to the customer. If lights are broken, stolen or destroyed while in storage, Brighthouse agrees to be responsible for the cost of replacing the equipment. Customer understands that if they elect to store their holiday equipment other than with Brighthouse, this will void any and all warranties on the products; this is due to the fact that Brighthouse is not able to ensure safe storage away from the elements, animals, etc.
Ownership of Lights: Customer understands that included in the initial, upfront price is the ownership of the holiday lights. Brighthouse agrees to cede possession of the lights to the homeowner at the homeowner’s request within 30 days. If holiday equipment is stored with Brighthouse and the customer does not have the equipment installed for 2 consecutive holiday seasons, said equipment will be recognized as abandoned. The customer authorizes Brighthouse to assume ownership of any abandoned equipment for repurposing and/or discarding.
Warranty: Customer understands any item purchased through Brighthouse comes with a 3 year warranty. Brighthouse will ensure that all items work as expected for 3 consecutive seasons. After items are more than 3 years old, as part of the standard season provided maintenance, Brighthouse will do their best to repair any defective equipment; however, if any items are not able to be repaired by Brighthouse, new equipment will need to be purchased. See Storage of Lights section above to ensure warranty remains valid.
Subsequent Years: Customer agrees and understands that they are under no obligation to use Brighthouse for installation in future years. However, customer understands that Brighthouse does intend to offer the service in future years at the pricing included in this agreement. All terms and conditions in this agreement remain in force while customer retains Brighthouse services for their holiday light management. While the terms do remain in force, Brighthouse reserves the right to change policy and will notify customer if/when it does.
Terms of Payment: Customer agrees and understands that payment is due upon completed installation of their lights. In the event that payment is not received upon installation, customer has 30 days in which to make payment. After 30 days, any unpaid balance will be subject to a 10% late payment penalty. Check payments that do not clear the bank will result in a $35.00 fee.
Additional Terms: Customer understands that Brighthouse cannot guarantee consistent light bulb orientation due to twisting nature of light strands. Brighthouse is not responsible for paint chipping due to highly oxidized or deteriorating paint on fascia boards; nor is Brighthouse responsible for water marks or stains that could potentially be left due to the light strands, bulbs or anything equipment left on the customer’s property. Customer authorizes Brighthouse to take and use photographs or video of the customer’s property for marketing and media purposes.
